Visalia Youth Baseball is happy to announce that we will be having a Fall Ball season once again for ages 8 through 12. We will be using the 2025 league ages with a cut-off date of May 1, 2025, to determine your child’s age for this year’s Fall Ball League. Games will be played on Sundays starting October 6th and running through November 10, 2024, at the CR Shannon Baseball Complex at Riverway Sports Park. In the past, we have allowed 7 year-olds to play if they have the maturity and skill set to play in the 8-U Division which is regular baseball with the players pitching. Registration will open on August 1, 2024, and will close on September 15, 2024 or when registrations have reached capacity. You can register as an individual and your child will be placed within their age division. We are keeping the registration fees the same as last year so the fee will be $100 and each player will receive a hat and shirt. Travel teams can register for a total team fee of $800. They must provide their own uniforms and provide proof of insurance. Travel team managers register by emailing Mark of VYB at visaliaragebaseball@gmail.com. 

Just a reminder that the main purpose of Fall Ball is for player development and preparing them for next season. We do not keep scores or standings and there are no playoffs. We will also be looking for coaches.

What is Visalia Youth Baseball?
Visalia Youth Baseball (VYB) is an affiliate of the Babe Ruth League that includes the Cal Ripken division for players ages 4-12 and the Babe Ruth division for players ages 13-16.  

Babe Ruth Division:
This division was created for ball players ages 13-16 who wish to continue their baseball playing experience beyond the age of 12.

Registration:
Registration opens each year on November 1st. During the open registration times (normally November 1st of each year through mid-April of the following year - FOR BABE RUTH) click on the large orange Registration Now Open banner on the home page to register.

Season Dates:
The season will begin in mid-May and end at the end of June.

Game Locations:
Games will be played at Ridgeview varsity & junior varsity baseball fields.

Who Will be Coaching the Teams?
VYB is a 100% volunteer organization. All managers and coaches give their time to the league to coach the kids. Managers and coaches must pass a background check, complete a Babe Ruth coaching certification course, and complete an abuse prevention training course. All managers and coaches must be approved by the VYB Board.

Team Assignments:
This season Babe Ruth will have Tryouts on May 11th, 9:00 a.m. at Ridgeview Middle School.  ALL registrants will be placed on one of the 8 teams.  Tryouts are only to balance the teams.

When Will We Hear From Our Coach?
May 11th, in the evening, the coaches will draft their teams. You will hear from your coach within a couple of days, so by May 13th-14th.

Babe Ruth Division Approved Bats:
1. USA Baseball Marking.           2. BBCOR.50.      All bats must have a 2-5/8" barrel.  Note: Solid one-piece wood bats are permitted for use in all divisions and must conform to Rule 1.10. No laminated or experimental bats shall be used in a game.

Registration for the 2024 Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth Spring seasons begins tonight, November 1st, at 12:00 midnight.  Take care of registering your children right away as we will have limited spots in all age divisions - Majors (10 to 12 year-olds), AAA (10-12), AA (10-12), Minor 9 year-olds, Minor 8 year-olds, Rookie 7 year-olds, Rookie 6 year-olds, and T-Ball (4-5 year-olds).  The age cut-off for the 2024 season is May 1, 2024, so whatever your child’s age is as of April 30, 2024, will be the age division where they will be placed. 
The “early bird” registration price of $150 for 6-12 year-olds will be in effect from November 1 through December 31, 2023.  The regular registration price will be $200 as of January 1, 2024.  The registration prices for T-Ball ($100) and Babe Ruth ($125) will remain the same as last year.   You will need to upload your child’s birth certificate during the registration process.
